It is not a hulu but a charm. Among local chinese population, we call it as HU -
yellow paper with red chinese characters to ward off bad luck. They're usually
hanged above doors.
Also the practitioner asks us to eat vegetarian food on every 1st and 15th of
lunar month. And pray at a temple.
